We know that there are a lot of plugins in the market that offer subscription services easily, but at the moment we will show you how to setup MailChimp, one of the most used subscriptions services in the world.
Create an account on MailChimp
First of all, you need a MailChimp account, if you already have one, great, go to next step, if not you only have to go to: mailchimp.com and click on Sign Up Free.
Create a list
You will need a list where your readers will subscribe, so first things first:
1) Go to Lists and click on Create a List button. Then fill the form with your data.
2) Now go to Signup forms tab, and click on Embedded forms. Select Super Slim or Horizontal form, you can modify it as you want:
3) Copy the code that appears on Copy/paste onto your site box.
4) Go to your blog and create a New Page called "Subscribe to my posts" or choose a name you want. Paste the code, but make sure that you have the editor in Text mode:
You can add this page as a Menu item for example, and offer to your readers to subscribe to your posts.
5) Create a campaign
Now, you need to sync your blog posts with MailChimp, so on MailChimp, go to Campaigns and click on Create a Campaign button. Select RSS campaign and fill the form with the data. In RSS feed URL write your domain url followed with /feed, for example:
Once that you filled the form, click on Next in the bottom right. Now you have to choose the list that you created before and select Entire List option. Again click on Next in the bottom right. Finally you have three steps more where you can customize the emails that the user will receive.
